Crime Statistics

According to the crime report compiled by the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation, Le Flore County had a net total of 922 crimes in 2018 and a crime rate of 18.65%. The reported criminal offenses consisted predominantly of property crimes. Larceny was the most reported offense with about 510 reported incidents in that year. Breaking and entering, followed with 240 reported incidents. The third most occurring offense and highest violent crime was felonious assault, with a record of 85 reported cases. There were 59 recorded cases of motor vehicle theft, 18 cases of rape, and 7 cases of robbery. Murder and arson were the least recorded offenses in the year with 3 reported cases each.

How to Find Le Flore County Sex Offender Information?

The Oklahoma Department of Corrections maintains a registry for sex offenders who reside, school, or work in Oklahoma and provide public information in the interest of public safety. The law of the state requires sex offenders to register with and regularly update their information with the Department of Corrections and with their local law enforcement agency. Sex offenders who fail to register and comply with the law are liable to up to five years in prison. The Oklahoma Department of Corrections encourages members of the public to register for the Community Notification System to enable them to receive email notifications when a registered sex offender moves into a specified range of their submitted address. How Do I Visit an Inmate in Le Flore County Jail?

Family members and friends of inmates at the Le Flore County Jail are allowed to visit them between 9 am and 6 pm on weekdays. Visitors do not have physical contact with inmates. All Visitors must be searched and must conduct themselves properly and abide by specific rules. Visitors, less than 18 years are not permitted inside the facility unless accompanied by adults. Unaccompanied visitors under 18years visiting a parent must present a copy of their birth certificate.

Where and how to Get Le Flore County Birth Records

The Oklahoma State Department of Health issues certified copies of birth certificates for births that took place in Le Flore County. The requestor must be 15 years of age or older and must present valid government-issued picture identification. The requestor must pay a non-refundable fee of $15 for the search and the issuance of a certified copy. Additional certified copies will attract a cost of $15 per copy. Requestors must also submit a completed application form and proof of eligibility.

Non-sealed birth records that occurred over 125 years from the date of request are open to the public and require no proof of eligibility. However, a requestor must still pay $15 and submit a completed application and a photo ID. A Requestor of sealed birth records ( e.g., adoptions), which occurred over 125 years from the date of request, must provide a certified copy of a court order, to access such birth records.
