Crime Statistics

The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation (OSBI), through the OSBI Uniform Crime Reporting (UCR) Program records crime figures on behalf of all counties and cities in the state. The OSBI collects arrest and crime reports from sheriffs’ offices and police departments in Oklahoma. In 2018, Delaware County had a total number of 808 crimes reported. This includes 99 violent crimes and 709 property crimes. The violent crimes reported include four murders, 26 rapes, five robberies, and 64 aggravated assaults. The property crimes reported include 178 burglaries, 434 larcenies, 83 motor vehicle thefts, and 14 arsons.

These figures represent a massive increase in crimes reported in Delaware County over a five-year period. Between 2013 and 2018, there was an increase in seven out of eight major crimes. Murder, rape, robbery, aggravated assaults, burglary, larceny, and motor theft rates increased by 300%, 550%, 67%, 49%, 75%, 43%, and 453% respectively. Arson rates remained the same.

Name-based search results cost $15 each, while it costs $19 for fingerprint-based requests. Payment can be made in cash (in-person requests only), or through money order, cashier’s check, or credit card. Mail requests should include a postage-paid envelope. Fingerprint scans can be done at the Sheriff’s Office at $25.

How To Find Delaware County Sex Offender Information

According to the Oklahoma Sex Offenders Registration Act, there are three Levels for registered sex offenders in the state. Level 1 poses a low danger to the community, Level 2 poses a moderate danger to the community, and Level 3 poses a serious danger to the community and are required to register for their lifetime. Information on sex offenders registered in Delaware County is available on the sex offender portal. This online database is maintained and regularly updated by the Delaware County Sheriff’s Office. It contains a list of all sex offenders in the county, along with the level of danger they pose to the community.

Sex offender information can also be obtained at the state level, through the Oklahoma sex offender registry.
